Leonhard Bartolomeus (b. 1987) is an independent curator, researcher, and also passionate teacher. He graduated from Jakarta Arts Institute, with Major at Ceramic Craft on 2012. In the same year he a writing workshop held by ruangrupa—a contemporary collective artist based in Jakarta—and later on, join the collective. In 2013, his rst book “Publik dan Reklame di Ruang Kota Jakarta” alongside with co-author/editor at Karbonjournal.org, published. In 2014 he receives a grant from The Japan Foundation to do an internship as the assistant curator at Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art. Starting from 2015 until 2017, he was curator/director of RURU Gallery. Besides all the works with ruangrupa, he has been doing many research and exhibition with di erent partners such as Jakarta Arts Council, NGO’s, and also art school. Recently, he was developing his research on colonial landscape paintings across South East Asia region.
